This week, we’re sitting down with Susie Timm, founding mouth behind the popular Valley food blog Girl Meets Fork and this week’s Pancake Quest 2012, where 7 Valley chefs compete for the Pancake Quest crown. Find out who will take the hotcake on Wednesday, January 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Perk Eatery. Harvest Beer Dinner

As we first mentioned a couple weeks ago, SanTan Brewing Company and Rico’s American Grill are teaming up to host the Harvest Beer Dinner benefiting The Beer For Brains Foundation Thursday night at 6:30.

The event will begin with an appetizer reception, followed by a four-course dinner paired expertly with SanTan’s seasonal craft beers – including their new featured seasonal, 12 Daze Caramel Spiced Ale. Before each course, Rico’s executive chef Ken Arneson and a representative from SanTan will describe the dish and beer pairing.

The Peoria-based Beer For Brains Foundation raises public awareness about brain cancer, engenders compassion for its victims and helps fund groundbreaking research leading to a cure.

The event is $59 per person, plus tax and gratuity, and requires reservations which can be made by calling Rico’s at 602.997.5850.

SanTan Seasonal Brew

We love our seasonal brews here at DLT, so we’re excited to hear the local SanTan Brewing Company is unveiling their new 12 Daze Caramel Spiced Amber Ale – a strong American amber ale, lightly spiced with a fresh, local Chai Tea blend of 12 unique herbs and spices.

The brewery is teaming with Rico’s American Grill at the Squaw Peak Resort for tonight’s launch party. The party will be filled with music, giveaways, and beer sampling by the SanTan team and is also promoting the Harvest Beer Dinner for The Beer for Brains Foundation on December 1.

The party kicks off at 6:30 p.m and guests that make reservations for the Harvest Beer Dinner during the launch party will receive an exclusive $10 discount to the December event!
