Standup Scottsdale is always ready to help out the community. That includes are four-legged friends. Tonight, the comedy club will be hosting an event filled with laughs, costumes, and canines. Starting at 7:00 pm, the club is teaming up with the Lost Our Home pet adoption organization. The Lost Our Home Foundation is a abandoned animal rescue and shelter. There will be cocktails, music, comedy, and of course, a costume contest. Costumes are required. Lost Our Home will also have some of their furry residents in attendance. Who knows, you may fall in love and meet your new best friend.
Have you figured out what you’re doing this weekend? It is Labor Day and after all, with all the hard work you’ve been doing, you deserve to have a good time. Perhaps, you can add laughing into the itinerary this weekend. Stand-Up Scottsdale will be having a Labor Day Weekend comedy deal where when you attend shows this Friday or Saturday (at either 7:30pm or 9:30pm), you’ll receive to free tickets to an upcoming show. This weekend, the club owner, Howard Hughes, will be performing for the first time in almost a decade. Plus, you basically get three tickets for the price of one.
Tomorrow is the Fourth of July. It is a day honoring this great nation, usually with BBQs, pool parties, and fireworks. What about laughs? If fireworks aren’t really your thing and if you’re not feeling too social but still want to do something, you should head over to Stand Up Scottsdale. Tomorrow night at 8:00 pm, if you wear red, white, or blue, you can see comedian Mo Mandel perform for free. You may recognize Mo from Comedy Central’s “Open Mic Fight” which he won in 2007 and appearances on Comedy Central’s “Live at Gotham”, “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson.”
It always nice seeing businesses doing good things. Memorial Day is coming up on May 27. To honor the military, Scottsdale premier comedy club, Stand-Up Scottsdale, will be having a special show before the holiday. On May 23, the club will be donating 70% of their proceeds to the Heroes to Hometowns organization. This is all in honor of one of the Valley’s fallen soldiers, Army Pfc. John C. Johnson. Johnson succumbed to his wounds when insurgents attacked his unit in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. Comedian Quinn Dahle will be the night’s performer. The show starts at 8:00 p.m. and costs $10.00. Show your support by having a few laughs.
Being a co-star and executive producer of Curb, Garlin has won critical acclaim as a writer, producer, director, actor and stand-up comedian. His career includes extensive experience in TV, film and publishing including voice work as The Captain in WALL-E and Buttercup in “Toy Story 3.”
