The Scottsdale Museum of Contemporary Art (SMoCA) will host its Slide Slam series with a free presentation at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 27 to spotlight the Valley’s dynamic architects and their recent projects. Slide Slam events began when presentations were still given via individual slides and carousels, now updated with Power Point shows, video and other media. The presentations serve as a platform for artists, designers, architects and other Valley creatives to explain, describe and show off their work to the public. The spring Architect Slide Slam also coincides with the 8th Annual Modern Phoenix Expo + Home Tour at Marion Estates. This year’s Slide Slam event features Neal Jones, AIA LEED AP, and Brian Farling of Jones Studio Inc; Carlos Murrieta, AIA, CSI, LEED AP, of SPS + Architects; Patrick Magness, AIA, of Gensler; Thomas Durkin, AIA and Andrea Lucarelli, Associate AIA, of Durkin + Durkin. The event is free and will be inside Stage 2 Theater, located in the Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts building adjacent to SMoCA.
