Save Your Dimes, Become a Dime Piece

June 22, 2012 | 9:00 AM | Deals | By Maxfield Barker

Hey there, hot stuff. We all know that looking as good as you do is mostly just your natural beauty, but some things money can buy and the upkeep can get a little pricey. This is why we are pleased to share that Fuchsia Spa in Mesa is offering great summer deals to keep you looking your best on a budget. A one-stop-shop for all your beauty needs, Fuchsia is a full-service day spa that offers a refreshing twist from the norm. In other words, just the place to go to maintain such a flawless look

Custom Airbrush Tanning $17.50

We all know by now that tanning in AZ (or in general) is pretty stupid, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have that bronzed bod you’ve been coveting. Custom airbrush tanning allows you to choose the color you want with no orange streaks and, more importantly, no risk to your health.

Blow Outs $17.50

Fuchsia, being the only blow out bar in the Mesa and Gilbert area, is just the spot to make your hair ‘just been done’ fabulous without injuring your good arm by way of endless round brushing. Lasting up to a week (with the help of a little dry shampoo) blowouts provide extra volume in these dreadful summer days. It’s a great way to get ready for a girl’s night out on the town and not look like a train wreck the morning after.

Fuchsia Facelift Package $90

During July, Fuchsia will be offering its Fuchsia Facelift, that includes a Microdermabrasion, a facial,  a 2 layer eye-lift, and a micro-current in addition to a blow out for just $90.

These are just some of the deals going on, check out the full Fuchsia Service Menu and witness affordability for yourself. Call (480) 813-7465 to book your appointment. Oh, by the way, Fuchsia is the only full-service day spa that offers a membership program for only $59. Yeah, we thought you’d like that.

The Valley’s First Men’s Night

June 19, 2012 | 2:00 PM | Bars | By Maxfield Barker

Wait, what? Yes, you read correctly. We all know that countless bars, clubs, and restaurants have exclusive Ladies’ Nights where fine females don’t have to pay a cover and get free booze. That’s cool, but where’s the motivation for opposite sex? In a society where gender roles are slowly going the way of the Dodo, Blue Wasabi Sushi and Martini Bar in Scottsdale and Gilbert is starting a revolution.

Starting tonight, Blue Wasabi is introducing the Valley’s first men’s night with ‘Rocks and Rolls,” which features smoking deals on drinks on the rocks and awesome sushi rolls. Clever, no? Sorry ladies, this deal is for the guys only. With names like the ‘Chuck Norris Roll’ and the ‘Fightin’ Irish’ cocktail, these guy-specific items are definitely playing to a certain crowd.

“There’s no shortage of Ladies’ Nights around town, so we thought it was about time the guys had a night of their own — Rocks and Rolls at Blue Wasabi is exactly that,” Jim Moran, owner of Blue Wasabi said.

The deal gets even better. Every Wednesday the guys will get the chance to win a pair of Arizona Diamondback tickets in a raffle and all you have to do is show up and enter.

“New drinks, the same great Blue Wasabi food on special and for a limited time, the chance to win Diamondbacks tickets,” Moran said. “Wednesdays officially belong to the guys now.”

Ditch the Lenses With Free Lasik

April 26, 2012 | 12:00 PM | Deals | By Alanna Watson

While we admit a nice pair of nerdy spectacles can be charming from time to time, the aggravation of wearing glasses and contacts every day can really take its toll. Fear not for Southwestern Eye Center is giving away one free lasik surgery to one lucky person who participates in their pretty adorable-sounding Facebook contest. All you have to do is upload a (creative) photo of something you would do (or see) if you had perfect vision. The contest, “I Can See Clearly Now My Glasses Gone”, ends June 4th, so feel your way over to their Facebook page  for all the details and enter for a chance to be frames free.

Getting a $13 Tattoo is EZ

April 10, 2012 | 7:55 AM | Deals | By Hannah Hayes

Instead of watching out for all ladders, black cats and broken mirrors this Friday the 13th, celebrate your fearlessness with a tattoo! EZ Tattoo definitely is: this Friday, the state-of-the-art Scottsdale shop will offer $13 tattoos (typically the size of a nickel) and buy one, get one for $13 piercings with free standard jewelry from noon to 11 p.m. The shop’s tattoo artists say the $13 marking adequately displays simple initials, small hearts or, if you’re feeling lucky, the number 13.

“It’s a great deal, no matter if you choose the piercing or the tattoo,” said EZ Tattoo owner Myron Larrabee. “Or you can choose both and walk out of our shop with a quality tattoo, two piercings, free jewelry and sea salt aftercare products. You can’t beat that.” For more information or to schedule an appointment, click here or call 480.941.8720.

Dysport For a Cause

March 22, 2012 | 7:55 AM | Deals | By Hannah Hayes

If the grass always looks greener younger and smoother on the other side, here is why. The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) has recently reported that during 2011, 9.2 million cosmetic procedures net more than $10 billion dollars in the United States. The Society, which has been taking statistics since 1997, says the overall number of cosmetic procedures has increased a whopping 197% since the tracking of the statistics first began. The most frequently performed surgical procedure was lipoplasty (liposuction) and the most popular nonsurgical procedure was injections of Botulinum Toxin Type A (including Botox and Dysport). These statistics align with Arizona’s state statistics, and Valley plastic surgeons like Shapiro Plastic Surgery say demand for plastic surgery procedures is on the steady incline thanks to a competitive job market, aging population and more men going under the knife.

If the recession hit you a little harder than that and you’ve got your own frown lines you want smoothed, DeRosa Medical in Scottsdale has got your back…and your forehead, cheek bones and stretch marks. This App Could Save Your A$$ St. Patrick’s Day

March 16, 2012 | 9:30 AM | Deals | By Maxfield Barker

For the 12th year in a row, Phoenix based Discount Cab will be continuing its Free Ride Back program. Costing the company $77,500 in free rides per year, the program is designed to keep drunken drivers off the road and out of those dreaded pink undies, courtesy of Sheriff Joe.

To make Free Ride Back that much easier, Discount has just launched its new iPhone app and newly redesigned reloadable gift cards. All of this comes just in time for tomorrow’s green-hued antics aka St. Patrick’s Day, and the remaining Spring Training season.

To take advantage of the Free Ride Back program, simply call 602-200-2000 in Phoenix, or 520-200-2000 in Tucson, and specify if you want a ride and a “Free Ride Back” to your car the next morning. Discount Cab gives you a code, which you give to the driver the next morning for the ride back to your car. In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, for one day only, Discount Cab’s new iPhone app can be used not just to get a cab, but to get a Free Ride Back as well.

So make your way to the app store before making your way to the beer garden tomorrow.

Want a New Nose? Then Get Singing!

March 15, 2012 | 7:55 AM | Deals | By Hannah Hayes

Nose Job King of Miami Dr. Michael Salzhauer of Bal Harbour Plastic Surgery Associates wants to make over your schnozzle for free, but only after you’ve earned it. Recently, Dr. Schnoz commissioned Jewish punk rock band The Groggers to write a love ballad for nose jobs called “Jewcan Sam (A Nose Job Love Song).” In exchange, the band’s lead singer received a nose job. How does this apply to your sniffer, you ask? With the doc’s new contest, of course. Contestants interested in getting a nose job must make an original video about needing the procedure to The Groggers’ jingle and put it on YouTube for the world to see. Bravado is rewarded, so don’t be shy: the contestant who gets the most views will win a free Rhinoplasty from Dr. Salzhauer, free airfare to Miami and lodging.

“I wanted to create something no other plastic surgeon has done before. Rhinoplasty is my favorite and most desired procedure. I found a way to incorporate my work into a fun and creative way to attract more patients,” Dr. Salzhauer explains.

Contestants must be between the ages of 15-65; patients under 18 years of age require parental consent. All videos must be submitted by June 15, 2012. Winners are legally required to meet the medical, aesthetic and psychological criteria.
