Downtown Phoenix is the hub of the Valley art scene. First Friday attracts thousands of people every month to walk the streets of Roosevelt Row. Modified Arts gallery is one of the most popular destinations. Opening this Friday, Modified proudly presents new works by Saskia Jordá and Christ Oatey.
On August 17, from 6-9.m. marks the opening reception of ”Random Interference.” Phoenix-based Jordá uses an interdisciplinary form and works with yarn, felt, and fabric to produce amazing sculptures, wall works, and installations. Oatey, who hails from Los Angeles, constructs site-specific installations that address architecture and spacial issues. Through the use of texture, materials, contrasting opposing elements, he art becomes detailed studies of objects and their construction.
The exhibit will be showing from August 17 to September 14.
