When you think of a Mercedes, you don’t necessarily think of an off-road monster of an SUV. The Ener-G-Force Concept is about to change all of that. Your first glimpse of it reminds of your of a futuristic video game (there should be a laser cannon mounted on top). This concept part of a design competition and was intended for future police departments. Don’t expect this ride to be out anytime soon. It’s still pretty cool to look at, though.

Are You My Ride? Vespa 946
Vespas are pretty cool. You can pretend you’re cruising through the Italian countryside while driving one of these bad boys. The Vespa 946 mixes the classic WWII era scooter with a contemporary feel. The 946′s 125 cc, single cylinder engine gets up to 13o miles to the gallon. That’s extraordinary. With gas prices the way they have been, we wouldn’t mind trading in our gas guzzler for this cruiser. We don’t have a price for you yet, but we’re pretty sure it’ll be one of the most inexpensive Are You My Rides we’ve featured.
Are You My Ride? Camaro Hot Wheels Edition
No young boy’s toy collection was complete without some Hot Wheels. Those little toy cars flying down the many orange ramps you set up are as American as Apple pie. Now that you guys are grown up, you can enjoy Hot Wheels again, this time for adults. Chevrolet has just come out with their Camaro Hot Wheels Edition. This limited edition Camaro lets you choose between either a V6-powered LT or V8-powered SS trims. You’ll be able to pump out 323 and 426 hp. Either way, that’s fast. The car is a beast and the aesthetics are stunning. The price is still unknown, but we know it will be the perfect addition to your toy collection.
Are You My Ride? Peugeot RCZ R Concept
We’ve featured plenty of concept cars on DLT. Sometimes they actually see the light of day, sometimes not. According to Uncrate, we’re pretty sure this concept will be hitting the road next year. Good thing too, because it’s awesome looking ride. The 1.6L THP engine will give the RCZ R concept a whopping 260 hp. It is unclear whether this is final version of the car, but we do know that this will be the most powerful Peugeot as of yet. We’ll start saving. For now, we’ll ogle over this picture for a while.
Are You My Ride? Lexus LF-LC Blue Concept
Now this is definitely a concept car. Just look at it. This is something we would expect to see in a science fiction movie. The Lexus LF-LC Blue Concept is a thing of beauty. Its Advanced Lexus Hybrid Drive combined with an Atkinson cycle combustion engine gives this beast 500 hp. It even has a 12.3 inch LCD screen to give you all the necessary information while driving. We’re going to have to keep dreaming because chances are it’ll never get made. Maybe we’ll see it in a sci-fi movie in the near future.
Are You My Ride? Porsche Cayenne Turbo S
This isn’t an SUV for soccer moms and dads. At its core lies a race car, what with its 550 hp engine, a 0-60 mph time of just 4.3 seconds, and a top speed of 175 mph. The Cayenne Turbo S has an advanced chassis that helps with its maneuvering. With that engine, you’re going to need help. Everything about the new Cayenne is state of the art and since it is a Porsche you can bet that it’s classy as well. For a cool $147,000, you can pick yours up next year.
Are You My Ride? Maserati GranCabrio MC
With the weather finally starting to cool down (though just a little bit), it’s pretty much convertible season. Cool nights, with the wind blowing through your hair sounds great. If you can, get yourself one of these new Maseratis. It’s practically built for speed, with the aggressive angles and GranTourismo inspiration. From 0 – 62 mph in 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 188 mph, we wish we were cruising in the GranCabrio right now. In our dreams we are. Of course, the price is still TBA, like most of the rides we feature.
Are You My Ride? Audi Crosslane Coupe Concept
This isn’t the first Audi we’ve looked at. It’s not even the first concept we’ve looked at, but nonetheless it’s pretty cool. If you’re a fan of the SUV crossover, then look no further. Firstly, it’s eco-friendly. It’s powered by a plug-in hybrid drive that pairs a 1.5L three-cylinder TFSI engine and two electric motors. Going from 0 – 62 in 8.6 seconds with 177 hp doesn’t sound fast, but that’s not the point. What’ll get you is the 213 mpg you’ll get on the highway. The body and interior scream contemporary. Naturally, the price is still TBA. We’ll be on the look out for you.
Are You My Ride? McLaren P1
Sure, it’s not exactly the most practical car in the world, but would you really care if it were in your garage? We’re not entirely sure what’s under the hood or even if this is the final design, but just look at it! We’re picturing it now: Zooming through the hills at break-neck speeds, watching people’s jaws drop as we zip past them. Obviously, since we know so little baout the McLaren P1, we’re definitely sure the price is TBA. Time to start saving.
Are You My Ride? 2013 Hennessey VR1200 Twin Turbo
Now, that’s a Caddy! This is definitely not your grandad’s Cadillac (though, in all honesty your grandfather’s is probably just as cool, but we digress.) The Hennessey’s twin-turbo 7.0L V8 pumps out 1,066 rear wheel hp. This might be one of the fastest Cadillac’s ever made with a 0-60 in an astonishing 2.9 seconds. And its top speed? 242 mph, that’s crazy fast. The whole car has been pretty much decked out head to toe. Want one of your own? Unfortunately the price is still TBA. We’re pretty sure it isn’t going to be cheap.
Are You My Ride? 2013 Land Rover Range Rover
We’ve always been fans of the Land Rover Range Rover. They’re perfect for everything. You could take the kids to school or romp in the desert in style. Either way you want it, it’s a win-win. Being the fourth version, the all-new 2013 Range Rover has some new tricks up its sleeve. It has an aluminum unibody, which makes it hundreds of pounds lighter than its 2012 predecessor. An array of next-gen systems makes it technologically top of the line. The V8 engine and Terrain Response system make it perfect for the outdoors. The price still TBA but perhaps it’ll make a good gift this holiday season?
Remembering 9-11
Today marks the 11th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Almost 3,000 people gave their lives over a decade ago. Today, we and the rest of the country honor them. Whether you’re at work or at home, take a moment of silence and think of the family and friends who have lost loved ones. Think of the thousands of service men and women who have put their own lives on the line since then. Think of the fire fighters and police who charged into those buildings, without hesitation. Think of the passengers aboard the United flight 93 and their strength for fighting back. Today, let’s forget about the waging political war on Capitol Hill. Let’s forget petty squabbles and unimportant things. Let’s remember that we are all Americans and we’re pretty damn proud of that.

Are You My Ride? BMW Zagato Roadster
Now that’s a nice Beemer. We can imagine ourselves zipping down the highway, the wind in our hair, and that special someone in the passenger sit holding on for dear life. By the looks of it, you can tell the Zagato is based on the Z4, but much cooler. The sleek body style practically screams “buy me!” The 19 inch alloy wheels, leather seats and leather wrapped roll bars add a touch of class (not that it needed it.) The price is TBA only because it’s not currently for sale. Bummer.
Are You My Ride? 2013 Porsche 911 Carrera 4
Ah, the Porsche Carrera. Whether you pronounce it Porsche or Porsh-eh, if this is your automobile, no one will care. The Carrera 4′s Porsche Traction Management System guarantees that no matter the weather, this finely tuned machine will be able to handle the road. It’s pulled by a standard 350 hp or 400 hp if you want the 4s model. A 7 speed manual transmission will make you feel like your driving a race car, which you pretty much are. When choosing between the coupe or an open-top, we prefer having the wind running through our hair.
Are You My Ride? McLaren X-1 Concept
In this case, we can pretty much guarantee that is in fact, not yours or our ride. That’s probably because it was created by McLaren Special Operations for an anonymous client. The concept has a classic Phantom look with the rear wheel covers and also a modern supercar feel on the front end. Put simply, this car is gorgeous. The twin-turbo 625PS engine surely makes this automobile go fast, we just don’t know how fast. Rest assured, if you’re the anonymous client, chances are you’ll be hauling some serious tail.
Are You My Ride? Audi R8 Exclusive Selection Edition
Audi makes great automobiles and that is a fact. Though this is probably the last version of the 2012 R8 before the new 2013′s start to roll out, this is no exception. The R8 Exclusive Selection addition is an eye-popping masterpiece. It’s standard 430 hp V8 and 525 hp V10 engines are guaranteed to get you moving. Perks include upgraded interiors that offer more leather, contrast stitching, a Bang & Olufsen Sound System, and Navigation with the Audi Music Interface. Anywhere from $138k to $170k is what’ll it cost you. If you can get your hands on it, you better do so ASAP because there are only 20 V10s and 30 V8s being made, hence the name “Exclusive Selection.”
Are You My Ride? Land Rover Bowler EXR S
Did you really think Land Rovers are just for soccer moms and suburban driving? Land Rover goes back to its roots with the Bowler EXR S. It’s rally ready and road legal and has the engine to match. The 5.0L supercharged V8 will get you hauling from 0-62 in 4.2 seconds. It’s 550 hp makes it one of the quickest SUVs around. How many other SUVs do you know of can reach 155 mph? Personally, we think the red racing stripe down the center of the body is where it gets its speed. Twenty-two inch wheels, Bilstein dampers, Eibach springs, two racing seats, and 3-point seat belts all make you feel like you’re in a race car. For just $240,000, we probably should start saving now.
120 Seconds: Aaron Defeo
In this edition of 120 Seconds, we had the pleasure of talking to Aaron Defeo, Phoenix’s Most Inspired Bartender. The resident bartender of Casino Del Sol in Tucson, Defeo has been chosen as as the Phoenix finalist in Bombay Sapphire’s Search for the Most Inspired Bartender. His outstanding cocktail, Eastern Promises, has garnered his success in the Valley and will bring him to Las Vegas in September.
Competing against 52 top mixologists from across the US, the winner will be featured in and on the cover of GQ magazine. We asked him about drinks, life, and how to win in Vegas. Let’s take a look. We’ll keep you posted on how Defeo does in Vegas.
DLT: What was your inspiration behind Eastern Promises?
I really think that gin–in general–benefits from England’s colonial exploits, much to the detriment of the rest of the world. In particular, some of the eastern & middle-eastern flavor influences and notes stand out… cassia, licorice, cubeb (allspice flavor), and, of course, Coriander, from Morocco. Thai basil, one of the key ingredients in Eastern Promises, is a distinctly Eastern ingredient. It meshes very well with the rest of the notes, especially the licorice botanical, which lends a subtle, basil-like anise to the gin. I also used Ramazzotti Amaro, which not only goes well with the pineapple in the drink, but also carries that anise note. Of course, the pineapple syrup is also made from Chai tea, which evokes so many Eastern flavors (many of which are also found Bombay). »READ MORE
Are You My Ride? Audi R8 V10 Plus
The Audi R8 V10 Plus is the car we’ve been dreaming of. Just look at it. The royal blue color is a bit ostentatious, but if it was yours, wouldn’t you be proud? The 550hp V10 paired with the all-new 7-speed S tronic transmission was built for speed. From 0-62 in 3.5 seconds, you can get up to its 197 mph max in no time. New and upgraded features include LED headlights, LED rear indicator lights, grille and bumper. Carbon fiber lines the side mirrors, front splitter, rear diffuser, side blades, and engine compartment lining. Topped off with 19 inch gloss black wheels, this automobile will set you back over $200k. The only problem: no word on it being available in the States, but if you’re in Europe, get your hands on it.
Arrested Development Season 4 In The Works (Finally!)
Mashable is talking about it, The Huffington Post is talking about it and thanks to Twitter it seems as though another season of our beloved show, Arrested Development, is finally in the works.
While a possible season 4 was first announced in late 2011, we’ve heard these rumors before (remember, there was supposed to be a movie too at one point). But this time, thanks to the tweeting of @batemanjason, and show’s central protagonist, and @RealRonHoward, executive producer and narrator, we’re believing what we’re reading this time.
Last week Howard tweeted a shot of Bateman’s script for his character Michael Bluth, then earlier this week Bateman tweeted photos of his son George Michael Bluth (Michael Cerra). Here is the first and second shot that also give us a peek at the set. According to another tweet by Bateman, filming is set to begin mid August.
Are You My Ride? Hyundai Zombie Survival Machine
Is it just us or have zombies made a comeback in pop culture? From movies and TV shows like Shaun Of The Dead and The Walking Dead to videogames, it seems Hollywood is trying to prepare us for the impending zombie apocalypse. Aside from a blunt object and a trusty firearm, what’s the best thing to have to face a horde of the undead? Hyundai has our back.
Introducing the Hyundai Zombie Survival Machine. And that is exactly what it is: a survival machine. This suped-up Elantra Coupe comes complete with a cow zombie catcher, spikes, armored windows, a roof hatch for a quick escape, trunk full of weapons, and flood lights. We highly doubt your iPhone will be working when the s*** hits the fan, so they’ve included a CB radio. We don’t really think zombies will be coming, but nonetheless, this car would be awesome for our collection.
Are You My Ride? Aston Martin V12 Vantage Roadster
The British luxury sport car manufacturer has done it again. And by ‘again,’ we mean they turned one of their best performing automobiles into an open top version. The naturally-aspirated, 6.0L V12 (as the name suggests) engine pumps out 510 hp, sending the Vantage from 0-62 mph in 4.5 seconds. This beauty can reach a top speed of 190 mph, this makes us wish there was an autobahn-like highway here in the States. Featuring lots of carbon fiber, and 19-inch forged alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P Zero Corsa rubber, among others, this car is only available in select markets and for around $233,000, we can imagine why.
Are You My Ride? Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake
When looking for a new home or apartment, what is one major selling point? Hardwood floors, of course. Nothing says class like Oak hardwood underneath your feet. What happens when you cross those floors with a Mercedes? Check out the Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake. We know this Benz is a wagon, but hear us out. Mercedes, being the one-of-a-kind car maker it is, is turning something that is traditionally lame (the station wagon) into a chic masterpiece. One of the coolest features of the CLS is the wooden luggage compartment floor that can carry between 590 and 1550 litres of luggage. The car also features an automatically-lifting tailgate, a rear air suspension, 7g-tronic Plus automatic transmission, dynamic full LED headlamps, and safety features like active blind spot and active lane keeping assist. You may be wondering why we used the metric system to quantify the luggage space, that’s because this car is only available in Europe as of right now. Naturally, the price is TBA. We’ll add it our wish list.
Are You My Ride? Mclaren MP4-12C Spider
Personally, we believe this is one of the most beautiful cars we’ve had the pleasure of writing about. Just look at, in all its glory. The McLaren features a retractable hard top, an electronically-controlled rear windscreen, and a passive roll over protection system. Its 616 bhp, 3.8L V8 twin turbo engine gets it from 0 to 61 in 3.1 seconds. A top speed of 204 mph, guarantees you’ll be tearing up the pavement, just don’t get caught. For over $265,000, we’re going to start saving now. In the mean time, you can drool over this picture just like we are.
