We’re sticking with the classics for this edition of Are You My Ride? Can you believe it has been 50 years since the first Ford Mustang was released? The iconic sportscar has racing down street for half a century now. The slightly tweaked 2015 Ford Mustang is a good looking ride. You can choose between a 5.0-liter V8 or a 3.7-liter V6 some a little extra power. The fastback rear window gives it that classic muscle car feel that you’ve been dreaming about since you were a kid. State-of-the-art driving components keep this ride in the modern category. Price is still up in the air, but we would love to get our hands on one.
Every Tuesday, our post abouts cars usually brings you something obtainable only in your dreams. Last week we brought a Nissan, which is affordable and this week, we’re coming back reality again with the 2014 MINI Cooper. You’ve seen them on the road and in movies, but have you ever been able to drive a MINI? Neither have we. They look like fun, little sport cars. The MINI a little bigger than its predecessors and you have the option to choose a three-cylinder 134-horsepower engine or a four-cylinder 189 horsepower engine. Both of those engines feature a turbo, which will give you a little extra something. The price is TBA, but it’ll definitely not be the most expensive car we’ve ever featured on DLT.
There’s a racecar driver in all of us. You don’t even have to be a teenager to feel that way. The Nissan GT-R Nismo is the best track-ready car that won’t cost you an arm and a leg. Its 3.8-liter turbocharged V6 engine can get you 600 horsepower. The futuristic body allows air to flow more easily off of it. This will help keep up with people who are dropping millions of dollars on their rides. Though, we don’t have a price yet, it won’t be that expensive.
At first glance, this might look like your typical Range Rover. In a sense, it is. But that’s not why we’re bringing it to you today. The 2014 Land Rover Range Rover Long Wheelbase is just that, long. It’s perfect for those long car trips where you just want to spread out and stretch. Complete with seats that can recline to 17 degrees, side door blinds, a panoramic sunroof, and lots of storage, this Range Rover really is the perfect road trip vehicle. It’s a Land Rover, so its off-road capabilities are great.
Today’s featured ride is pretty much only available in our dreams. The Lamborghini Veneno Roadster is a Lambo, after all. That means you can expect ridiculous specs along with a ridiculous price. The Roadster’s 6.5L V12 engine pumps out 750 horsepower. This will get the ride flying to ride around 220 mph. With a 0-62 mph in just 2.9 seconds, it’s one of the fastest cars on the market. If you’ve been a fan of Lamborghini for a while, you’ll notice the unique look of the Veneno Roadster. It has a very futuristic-Speed Racer appeal to it. For $4.5 million, what do you expect?
The 2014 Mercedes GLA Edition 1 is a limited edition. That means you may not be lucky enough to get your hands on one. That’s okay, you’ll never have most of the rides we feature here. The GLA is Mercedes’ answer to the crossover question. Its turbo-charged, four-cylinder engine can get up to 211 horsepower. It 19-inch, black wheels add a touch of coolness and race appeal. Brown leather dons the interior. The price is still to be determined and that means it’ll be expensive. Oh, and this car won’t be available in the States. Bummer.
The one series is no more, long live the two series. A lot of times, we feature rides that you would never be able to afford. Well, most of you. Today’s ride is something a little more practical but luxurious at the same time. The 2014 BMW 2 Series Coupe is a great car. With the options of a 184 horsepower four-cylinder engine or a 326 horsepower six-cylinder inline engine, you can go with a speed demon or a casual ride. Good handling, amazing interior, it is a BMW after all.
Do you have $3 million to spend on a brand new sports car? Yeah, neither do we, but we can still dream. Speaking of dreams, the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse Jean Bugatti Edition is definitely made of them. The body is made entirely out of carbon fiber (aside from dreams). The ride can pump out a whopping 1,200 horsepower. Sure, that’s not practical, but if you had that kind of dough to spend on it, it wouldn’t matter. Honestly, we don’t know much else about the car. It seems to be more of a status symbol than anything else.
You thought the days of the Escalade were over, didn’t you? That’s okay, so did we. Seeing how we’re (attempting) to live in a more environmentally conscious life, giant SUVs are the last things we want. But alas, the new 2015 Cadillac Escalade might change that, but only if they do a little less harm to the planet. The Escalade’s 6.2L V8 engine can pump out 420 horsepower. A completely redesigned interior is made up of leather and wood. It also has feature that deactivates cylinders in between fill-ups to save on gas. So, that’s okay, we guess.
That name is the quite the mouthful, isn’t it? Maserati’s are the epitome of class. If you’re able to afford one, you can pretty much tell yourself you’ve made it. The Maserati Quattroporte Ermenegildo Zegna Edition just has that classic elegance to it. It’s the type of ride that you would only take to places with a valet. There are no specs on the engine, yet, but that doesn’t really matter when you’re driving the Zenga edition. Just laying your eyes on the Italian-made car is enough.
This doesn’t look like a Lexus does it? All of these new concept cars and looking more and more futuristic. That may be the point of the a concept, though, to figure about the future of the auto industry. The Lexus LF-NX Crossover Concept looks like a spaceship from any high-budget science fiction film and there’s nothing wrong with that. The crossover features an interior that really looks like a spaceship dashboard. There’s no word on engine specs, price, or release date. All we have are some pretty neat pictures. We’re okay with that.
Lovers of science fiction are going to love this ride, as well. Sure, it’s BMW but it doesn’t look like a regular BMW, does it? The BMW i8 is the future. We’re not just saying that because of its unique body style, it really is. This hybrid’s 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine can get up to 231 horsepower and will get you from zero to 62 mph in 4.4 seconds. That’s pretty impressive for an electric ride. Plus, the i8 is just cool to look at.
This week’s ride is for the extremely privileged. If you’re offended by that, do you have a million dollars to spend on a ride? Yeah, we thought not. Anyway, this is the Galpin Ford GTR1. Now wait, you may be asking yourself, why is a Ford so expensive? Well, we’ll tell you. The Gaplin is based on the original Ford GT, a classic 1960s race car that rivals Ferrari and Lamborghini. The Gaplin has a 5.4-liter V8 engine that pumps out 1,024 horsepower. That wasn’t a typo. Its top speed exceeds 225mph and can hit 60mph in just 3.1 seconds. To get this car in your garage, you’re going to need about $1,024,000.
Who said Volvo’s were just for soccer moms? Yes, the Swedish-made cars are known for their safety and that’s a good thing, especially if you end up driving the Volvo Concept Coupe. Why is that? Because it looks and drives like a sports car. The engine is a gasoline and electric hybrid that pumps out 400 horsepower. It is also both supercharged and turbocharged with just a four-cylinder. The interior has all the class with wood-accents and touch screen tech. Way to go, Volvo. Price is still up in the air.
Are you ready to hit the trails but want to do it with a little bit of class? The 2015 Mercedes-Benz GLA-Class is the perfect ride for you. It is a cross-over luxury SUV that’s ready for an adventure in nature. Its turbocharges 2 litre engine is capable of getting 208 horsepower that will have you cruising down the dirt roads like they were nothing. The all-wheel drive guarantees you won’t find yourself stuck somewhere and there is plenty of room inside to store all of your gear. It’s the perfect adventure Benz.
Everyone likes a two-for-one deal. Have you ever seen one of those deals for cars? Neither have we. Any classic racecar fan will rejoice with the 1964 Volkswagen Pick-up With Porsche Formula V. Yep, you get a car-in-a-car, basically. Obviously, both vehicles have been restored and are in utter pristine condition. The Porsche Formula V runs on a 1.2-liter engine producing 40 horsepower which can get up to 100mph and is ready for the race track. Sure, that’s not a lot but it’s not the speed your paying for. The price is stil to be determined.
We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: there’s nothing like a good Benz. The 2014 Mercedes-Benz S63 AMG 4Matic is exactly what we’ve been looking for. It’s a lighter ride but packs a bigger punch than the other AMGs. Its 5.5L engine pumps out a ridiculous 577 horsepower giving it a zero to 60 in just 3.9 seconds. Even though there are just slight changes to the body, the ride looks different. There’s no price yet, but it is a Benz after all, so be prepared to pay a pretty penny.
The summer will be over before you know it. Have you had an adventure yet? Adventures are what make summer so great. Just getting out there and exploring something new is was strive for every year. The Sportsmobile Ultimate Adventure Vehicle will make that task much easier for you. Built from a Ford E350 van, the Adventure Vehicle can traverse any terrain you throw at it. The four-wheel drive, improved axels and shocks help that. It’ll be pricy to fill up with its 46 gallon gas tank but that means you can take it to the middle of no where and back again. Also acting like an RV, you can practically live out of the thing. If adventures are up your alley, be ready to spend about $80,000 for this ride.
Right away, you can tell this isn’t your typical BMW. To be honest, it’s not the best looking Beemer we’ve ever seen. Aesthetics aren’t the point with this ride, though. This is BMW’s frist exclusive electric car. The i3 can go up to 100 miles on one charge. A top speed of 60 mph on its 170 hp engine isn’t too shabby, either. Being made from carbon fiber and other plastic, the ride is also extremely light, which adds to the fuel efficiency. Expect to pay around $41,000 for this ride.
We’re more than willing to bet that you’ve never seen a Jaguar like this. The Project 7 Concept is something completely different than the normal luxury Jaguar. It supercharged 5.0-liter V8 can get you going at around 550 horsepower. This supercar was meant to race. The seven painted on the side pays tribute to the manufacturer’s seven LeMans race wins. For those of yo who don’t know, LeMans is a 24 hour car race that features every classification of race car. There’s no price determined yet, but we know we won’t be able to afford it.
Have you ever thought about just saying screw it and leaving everything to go on an adventure. You could travel across South America or even explore the U.S. What’s stopping you? Aside from financial obligations, what is really stopping you? Transportation, perhaps. The 1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ45 Troopy is the answer to your adventure-traveling questions. It’s an off-road vehicle and RV in one. With a Westfalia type pop-top camper, the SUV can comfortably sleep four people. The Alpine stereo, dual water tanks, a propane tank, and two fuel tanks make it ready for whatever you can throw at it. There’s no price, yet.
Even if you’re not a golfer, this is still pretty cool. Honestly, how many times have you thought about owning an actual hovercraft? Owning one is no longer a pipe dreams. Heck, it even has practical uses. The Golf Cart Hovercraft has a 65 horsepower two-cylinder engine with speeds capable of up to 45 mph. It’s not meant to go fast but it’s meant to go everywhere. The hovercraft will glide over sand traps and water hazards, making your way through the course as easy as possible. For a $58,000 golf cart, you better be able to do so.
Whenever we post a new ride, we can’t help but throw in a new Beemer here and there. The all new 4 Series are latest and greatest from the German car company. If you liked the previous 3 Series, then this is the ride for you. Its 306 hp twin-turbo six-cylinder engine will get you moving. If you want a little extra punch, you can opt for the 435i engine. Structurally, the ride was built for hugging the road with its lowered body and bigger wheels. We don’t have a price yet, but we’re willing to take out a second mortgage to purchase this ride.
So, the Valley doesn’t have a lot of bodies of water but if you owned this ride, you would make a trip to one as often as you possibly could. The Watercar Panther is the coolest hybrid car we’ve ever seen. We don’t mean hybrid in an environmental sense, we mean it in a half car, half boat sense. The Watercar is the fastest land-to-water vehicle out there. It can hit 80 mph on the road and up to 480 mph on the open water. It also has the ability to go off-road. It has everything you outdoor people need. For $135,000, this ride can be yours.
Ah, the Audi R8. It’s one of our favorite sports cars. The ABT Audi R8 V10 is that same ride but on steroids. Its 5.2L FSI engine can get you 600 horsepower no problem. This means you can go from zero to 62 mph in just 3.5 seconds. That kind of speed is impractical, sure. But it’s pretty freaking cool. Nineteen inch wheels and futuristic body, this ride has it all. We don’t have a price yet, but we’re willing to bet it’s not cheap.
