Are You My Ride? UBB Widow Maker 1100 Mustang

May 15, 2012 | 12:55 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

The Ford Mustang has been the epitome of American muscle for over half a century. The UBB Widow Maker reinforces that sentiment, ten-fold. For a cool $135,000 you can purchase this 1100 hp beast. Topping at around 230 mph and with a 0-60 in just 3.7 seconds, it’s no wonder they call it the Widow Maker. The car is covered in carbon fiber body kit, keeping the weight down. The 19-inch black alloy wheels, Brembo brakes, Advan traction control, Recaro seats, and built-in laser jammers (awesome), are all icing on the cake. If you find yourself driving this monster of a machine, as the name suggests, promise us you’ll be careful?

Are You My Ride? Mercedes-Benz Style Coupe Concept

May 8, 2012 | 4:41 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: we love a good Benz and especially if its a concept. We always want what we can’t have right? As you can see, there are some changes to the classic Benz look. The grill even appears to have to what looks like diamonds all over it, classy. This car is so aesthetically pleasing you can hardly take your eye off it. The interior is a bit different in this concept. A panoramic glass roof compliments the carbon fiber dash, white leather on the instrument panel, air vents that change color based on the selected temperature, neon green accents This amazing automobile with a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine is pretty much ready for the road and of course the price is still to be determined. We recommend you start saving now.

Are You My Ride? Land Rover Range Rover Evoque Victoria Beckham...

April 24, 2012 | 3:00 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

Want to find a way to spice up your life? Every boy and every girl: spice up your life! Yes, we know those are Spice Girls lyrics straight out of the 90s, but don’t worry, there is a method to our madness. Victoria Beckham, formerly known as Posh Spice, has a version of Land Rover’s famous Range Rover, the Evoque Victoria Beckham Edition. Right off the bat you might notice that this new Range Rover is a bit smaller than its predecessors, especially the fact that is now a two-door. Just like the beautiful Victoria, this SUV is all about aesthetics. Twenty inch wheels, a matte-gray finish that compliments a glossy black top is easy on the eyes. The interior is just as elegant with baseball-style stitching, rose-gold switches on a piano black center console, and (of course) a matching 4-piece luggage set. This SUV is the epitome of class. With a price that’s TBA and with only 200 made world-wide coming out this October, these Range Rovers are going to fly off the lot.

Are You My Ride? 2013 Mercedes-Benz G-Class

April 17, 2012 | 3:00 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again. We love a brand new Benz, and though it’s a little on the large size, we still love the new G-Class. Does it look familiar? Well it should because this SUV has pretty much stayed the same shape for over three decades. That 2013 model stays true to its rugged ancestors while incorporating the latest technology, making it a must have (if you can afford the six figure sticker price). Along with the G550 model, the G-class will include  the G63 AMG model this year, after a year-long hiatus. With a standard 382 hp in the G55, the AMG model jumps up to 544hp. This SUV can go from 0-60 in just over 5 seconds, which is great for this behemoth. As far as technology is concerned, the G-class includes blind-spot monitoring, and updated Parktronic backup sensors and rearview camera. Oh and don’t worry, this Benz can hold its own in the wilderness. Yeah, we want one too.

Are You My Ride? 2013 Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG

April 10, 2012 | 3:00 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

No one loves a nice Benz quite as much as us. The new SL65 is no exception. With a 6.0L V12 bit turbo engine, the Mercedes  has the potential to reach 621 hp, an impressive feat that is surely on top of its class. Zero to 60 in just 3.9 seconds and a top speed of 186 mph, you can get moving pretty quick in this car. To cut down weight, the SL65 is made of an aluminum body and incorporates a new twin-blade grille, and of course has plenty of technology components like a roof that can go from light to dark with just the touch of a button and a heating system that goes all the way to your neck (not that we really need that in the Valley). The price is still to be determined, but we can imagine it costing a pretty penny.

Are You My Ride? BMW i8 Concept

April 3, 2012 | 3:00 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

If you think hybrid cars don’t have the ability to pack a punch then you’re sadly mistaken friend. The BMW i8 Concept is a force not to reckoned with. As part of BMW’s experimental hybrid line, just looking at this car suggests the word “experimental” is an understatement. The car utilizes a 131 hp engine to power the front wheels and a turbo-charged 231 hp gas-powered engine that powers the rear wheels (talk about hybrid). This i8 Concept does indeed pack a punch with 0-62 mph in just 5 seconds and a top speed of 155 mpg. And guess what? The car gets about 78 miles per gallon, perfect when gas prices are starting to top $4 a gallon. The price is still to be determined so in the mean time you can ogle the picture we’ve provided for you.

Are You My Ride? Lamborghini Aventador J

March 13, 2012 | 3:00 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

If you have ever dreamed of being Speed Racer then obviously this ride is for you. Just look at it, it appears to be something out of a science fiction racing movie. Lucky for us it exists in real life. Meet the Lamborghini Aventador J. Here’s the catch. There’s only one.

Right away you notice the lack of a roof and conventional windshield. These are intended to reduce the weight of the car. Lamborghini also axed a sound, navigation, and air conditioning system to keep the pounds off as well. Without these luxuries, the driver can experience a true luxury: the automobile it self. This finely crafted machine deserves nothing less than your full attention when having the privilege to drive it.

The V12 engine pumps out 700hp. That’s enough to get you around 200 mph. If you ever get the chance to drive this beast, we say “Go Speed Racer! Go Speed Racer!”

Are You My Ride? 2013 Volvo V40

March 6, 2012 | 3:00 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

If you think Volvo’s are just for soccer moms then you are sadly mistaken. This gorgeous automobile is loaded with safety features (I mean, it is Volvo after all) that include some pretty high-tech devices. Things like a Pedestrian Detection system that will automatically brake if you don’t see that kid cruising down the street on his bike. It also has a system that helps you stay in your lane with automatic steering, and a low-speed collision avoidance system. This very well could be the last link until cars are driving themselves. And this ride isn’t stacked with the most awesome safety features. There’s plenty of muscle underneath the hood, pumping out 245 hp. Volvo will be holding a live launch of the vehicle online TODAY where users can ask Volvo designers questions and much more. To check out the launch, click here.

Are You My Ride? The BMW 328 Homage

February 28, 2012 | 3:00 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

For this week’s edition of AYMR? we’re taking a look into the past, while simultaneously heading towards the future. The BMW 328 Homage is exactly what its name suggests: an homage, specifically to the classic Beemer of the 1930s. The introduction of Homage last year was in honor of its ancestor’s 75th birthday. Right away you notice the lack of a roof and doors, a clear indicator of its roadster lineage. This majestic looking automobile is a finely tuned racing machine. The interior and exterior is made of carbon fiber, allowing the perfect ratio of durability and lightweight. Put simply, the car is gorgeous. It has leather straps that hold the hood down, how classy is that?

This Silicon Valley-based company is known for making electric cars and car components and introduced the first fully electric sports car. Now Tesla introduces its electric cross-over, perfect for parents with a need for style and speed. With the ability to go from zero to 60 in just 4.4 seconds, the Model X does not skimp on performance, not to mention the ability to go 160-300 miles on just one charge. Are You My Ride? Deus Bald Terrior 1200

January 31, 2012 | 3:30 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

Australian company, Deus ex Machina designed this bad-a$$ bike that combines new technology with a retro aesthetic, probably causing heads to turn wherever it goes. Putting out 1200cc, the bike is based off a Harley Davidson Sportster 1200. Stripping away a lot of the Davidson’s aspects, engineers were able to add custom 18 and 19 inch wheel sets, a high performance exhaust, and a PM Super gas air filter, among much more. We’re adding this one to our wish list.

Are You My Ride? 2013 Dodge Dart

January 24, 2012 | 4:00 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

Calling it the ultimate combination of power, efficiency, technology, and style, Dodge introduces the 2013 Dart. A remake of the classic muscle car, this automobile is flat out gorgeous. With plenty of customization options, the Dart allows buyers to choose pretty much anything. Dodge created three brand new types of engine for the car, which could potentially put out 184 hp. We cannot wait for this car. In terms of color, classic red is the only way to go.

Are you my ride? 2013 Acura NSX Concept

January 17, 2012 | 3:00 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

The NSX is not a new name to the Acura family, but the 2013 NSX Concept is utterly brilliant. The sleek and futuristic design of this impressive automobile is enough to entice any potential buyer. Underneath the hood, Acura combines hybrid power and a new all-wheel drive system.

The NSX will employ a form of the new hybrid Super Handling-AWD (SH-AWD) system, according to Motortrend. New to the concept are two electric motors that send power to the wheels, as opposed to a more traditional driveshaft. This finely tuned car could potentially put out 400hp. USA made, this car will be available and hopefully at Barrett-Jackson in 2015.

Are you my ride? 1966 Pontiac GTO

January 10, 2012 | 3:30 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Maxfield Barker

Nothing says USA like good old fashioned American muscle. Even though Pontiac officially closed its doors as of Oct. 31, 2010, you cannot help but appreciate the carmaker that once was. Nicknamed the “Goat,” the ’66 GTO epitomizes the muscle car scene of the 60s and 70s. The standard engine had a whopping 335 horsepower, an option for a 360-hp Tri-Power engine was available, but of course extra muscle equals extra cash. It’s a blast from the past and we highly recommend this finely crafted automobile.

Are You My Ride? 2013 BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe

December 13, 2011 | 3:30 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Staff

Beemer drivers have been waiting long enough for a model to rival the Mercedes-Benz CLS class. This week, BMW unveiled the 6-Series Gran Coupe, bridging the gap between the 5 and 7-Series models. This 4-door coupe is described by Car and Driver as, “beautifully splitting the difference between the 5 and 6.”

The biggest difference between the Gran Coupe and the Mercedez or the Audi A7 is the backseat, which BMW describes as a “4+1″ seating system, with an extra middle seat in the back. The middle seat, however, is just a seat belt over the center armrest, offering the worst seat in the house for the skinniest 5th passenger on your holiday road trip.

Check out more on the Gran Coupe on Uncrate as well.

Are You My Ride? Nissan Juke-R

November 29, 2011 | 4:30 PM | Are You My Ride? | By Chad Hays

Image via caranddriver.com

We’ve never been totally sold on the Nissan Juke as we see them driving along Valley streets. The SUV crossover from Nissan seems harmless enough, but it’s never motivated us to look over our shoulder for a second glimpse, and its 188-horsepower engine doesn’t exactly get the heart racing.

But what happens when you mix the beastly Nissan GT-R with the modest Juke? You get the Juke-R and its 485-horsepower, twin-turbocharged 3.8-liter V-6 engine and all-wheel-drive system. Now that’s a ride we can excited for.

The Juke-R is still in the concept stage but we’re hoping Nissan gets it into production at some point. We just hope the standard-issue Jukes don’t get jealous when their brawny cousin comes to town.

Are You My Ride? Mercedes-Benz ML63 AMG

Christmas shopping starts on Friday and we’ve got an item for the top of our list. Mercedes-Benz is revealing their new super SUV, the 2012 ML63 AMG at the Los Angeles Auto Show.

Mercedes keeps their luxury SUV tradition alive by improving the ML63′s fuel efficiency by an estimated 33% while the 518-horsepower engine is an increase of 15 horsepower over the 2011 model. And not that you’d ever try this on Valley streets, but it can go from zero to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 174 mph.

Check out the official AMG website for more info.

Are You My Ride? Ducati 1199 Panigale Superbike

This quick crotch-rocket unveiled recently at the EICMA International Motorcycle Show in Milan is described by Ducati as “the most powerful twin-cylinder production engine on the planet.” For just $20,000, you’ll beat anyone off the line and maybe even slip past a speed camera or two (we kid!). The lightweight bike at just 347 pounds, sports heavy-weight features outlined by UnCrate including “a class-leading tech, like a sporty ABS system, traction control, Ducati’s Electronic Suspension, quick-shift, Engine Brake Control, Ride-by-Wire systems, and a TFT display that changes to suit your environment.” Sounds like the perfect light-weight ride for that special, fast-riding lady.
