Looks & Locks

October 17, 2010 | 12:04 AM | Shop & Style | By Lacee Wentworth

With temperatures finally dropping around the Valley, Summer is getting the hint that Fall is the new guy in town. More important, this seasonal switch-up means it’s also time for a hairstyle checkup. Recently named “Best of Phoenix” by Phx Mag and one of InStyle Magazine’s ” Top 25 Salons in the country,” the gurus at Mane Attraction Salon say this season’s hottest locks are inspired by the shimmered, shiny, bold and sparkled fabrics and the menswear trend we’ve been seeing on the runways this season.

According to Mane Attraction co-owner and senior stylist, Kendall Ong, “Pixie Crops are still in, Big hair is finally out … until next season. Hair styles will be sleek and shiny like the gold shimmer dresses established designers Gianfranco Ferre and Dries Van Noten are sending down the runways. Smoothing the front locks and leaving the back locks loose to create a closer profile look will be a big trend. Try a textured chignon or soft braid to achieve this look with long hair.”
