Local & Lovely: Nove

Nove’ is one of my favorite up-scale boutiques in the Valley. Not only does this locally owned women’s clothing and accessories store have a beautiful selection of name brand styles, it also features incredibly sophisticated fixtures and decor. Expect to be instantly overwhelmed by all of the uber-chic eye-candy. You’ll fall in love with the whimsical displays designed by Jonathan Adler, as well as the artistic arrangement of Fornasetti plates carefully sprawled across the red lacquer walls. This Scottsdale boutique is definitely worth checking out, even if you’re on the “window shopping” budget.

Local & Lovely: Buffalo Exchange

Casey Hagarty is back with a new Local & Lovely find from a local shop, not the big box. Find her column here on Thursdays.

My latest local fashion find comes from Buffalo Exchange. Although, the nationwide resale shop has several locations across the country, Buffalo Exchange originated in Tuscon, Arizona and continues to run its corporate operations out of Arizona. I regulary shop at this sustainable store for one-of-a-kind pieces to incorpoarate into my trend heavy wardrobe. This cozy coat is the perfect shade of grey – the neutral jacket complements every winter look I pull together. If you’re on the hunt for fabulous outwear, I suggest you stop in Buffalo Exchange before you hit the pricey big box stores.

My latest local fashion find is this gorgeous printed silk Kite and Butterfly Felicity dress from Lindsay Lou in Scottsdale. Lindsay Lou has a perfectly curated selection of hip and contemporary brands that are exclusive to her local store and online boutique. From Wildfox tees to House of Harlow 1960 jewelry, this Scottsdale boutique is the go-to shop for celebrity-inspired trends. The vibe is bohemian with a splash of sophistication, think Nicole Richie meets Rachel Bilson in terms of style. Make sure you stop by the clothing store soon to take advantage of an awesome 35% off sale going on now for a limited time. You’ll find great deals of current trends you won’t find anywhere else in the Valley.

Local & Lovely: Butter Toast Boutique

Introducting Casey Hagarty as our Local & Lovely contributor, with finds from local shops, not the big box. Find her column here bi-weekly on Thursdays.

Did you know that for every $100 you spend at a locally owned business, $73 remains in the local economy and when you shop non-local, only $43 remains? As a fashion-obsessed shopaholic who treasures the Arizona boutique scene, I want to create more awareness about my favorite locally owned clothing stores by sharing the latest and greatest items I can find at these special shops.

My first local clothing debut features a blouse and scarf I bought at Butter Toast Boutique, a bargain friendly vintage shop that closely resembles the Anthropologie aesthetic. The silk blouse was only, $16 and the color block scarf cost, $7. The local boutique features items for men, women and children.
