Let’s face the facts, people: One in three Americans is obese. Let’s think about those numbers. That’s roughly over 100 million people and that’s outrageous. Fast food, high-fructose corn syrup, and overall laziness could be factors to that, but that’s not the point. The U.S. has a weight problem. Fitness Propelled wants to fight this epidemic. How? By stopping it before it starts.
Start ‘Em Young
In the age of video games, hundreds of TV channels, and other digital stimuli, it’s no wonder the problem starts early in life. One of the best ways to maintain healthy life is prevention. Physical education consultant and motivational speaker Geoff Rubin, owner and founder of Fitness Propelled, is devoted to helping children and young adults “seeking a healthy, more active lifestyle by offering affordable, fun and rewarding fitness options.” Through group programs, Fitness Propelled is geared towards helping kids and young adults High Functioning Autism, Asperger’s syndrome, Pervasive Developmental Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
The Method
The Personal Power program helps those on the Autism spectrum. This includes a functional training approach to develop locomotor movements, helps increase attention spans and on-task appropriate behavior, and incorporates anaerobic and aerobic conditioning at an individualized pace.
The Clap Attack was specifically designed by Rubin. It is a truly unique fitness program that specifically aims to generate positivity, motivation, and enthusiasm. Because motivation and self-esteem go hand-in-hand with healthy living.
It truly is an amazing program. The trainers train with you on a personal level in group workouts. They get to know you and your group. They motivate you. They keep you wanting more. Our hats are off to Rubin and Fitness Propelled.
