Remembering 9-11

September 11, 2012 | 10:00 AM | Columns | By Staff

Today marks the 11th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. Almost 3,000 people gave their lives over a decade ago. Today, we and the rest of the country honor them. Whether you’re at work or at home, take a moment of silence and think of the family and friends who have lost loved ones. Think of the thousands of service men and women who have put their own lives on the line since then. Think of the fire fighters and police who charged into those buildings, without hesitation. Think of the passengers aboard the United flight 93 and their strength for fighting back. Today, let’s forget about the waging political war on Capitol Hill. Let’s forget petty squabbles and unimportant things. Let’s remember that we are all Americans and we’re pretty damn proud of that.
