COOK For Human Rights

August 13, 2012 | 2:00 PM | Events | By Maxfield Barker

Sunday, November 4 will be a day to help your fellow man and woman. The Human Rights Campaign Arizona will bring together local restaurants for the very first annual COOK Phoenix, a tasting event and cooking competition that will take place at Margaret T. Hance Park in downtown Phoenix. The event will also include a silent auction and live entertainment from local acts.

Local restaurants will be offering small items from their menu for people to sample. Each guest will vote on their favorites and one winner will be chosen for the prestigious “People Choice” award. A panel of judges will also sample and vote, to grant the “Judges’ Choice” award.

A celebrity chef will also be in attendance to perform cooking demonstrations. The celebrity is still to be determined, but we can only guess who it will be.

There are a variety of ticket prices:

General Admission: $25, includes admission to the event, unlimited food tastings and an annual HRC membership.

VIP Admission: $100, includes admission to the event, unlimited food tastings, and complimentary non-alcohol/alcohol beverages all day, and an annual HRC membership.

VIP Admission for Federal Club Members: $75, includes admission to the event, unlimited food tastings and complimentary non-alcohol/alcohol beverages all day. You must be a current HRC Federal Club member for this discounted rate.

The Human Rights Campaign is America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender equality. By inspiring and engaging all Americans, HRC strives to end discrimination against LGBT citizens and realize a nation that achieves fundamental fairness and equality for all.
