Wine: Doing Its Part To Help AZ’s Economy

August 10, 2012 | 3:00 PM | Eat & Drink | By Maxfield Barker

Believe it or not, 66,000 gallons of wine is helping the Arizona economy. How you ask? By creating 400 jobs and adding $38 million to Arizona’s economy. That’ll do the trick.

Wine is becoming big business in Arizona with the growing industry contributing to significant economic growth for the Grand Canyon State. While this growth is due to the hard work of many, Arizona Stronghold (co-owned by rocker Maynard Keenan of Tool) is proud to be a part of the expansion as a leader in the wine industry here in Arizona.

Arizona’s Wine Tourism Industry Survey, which was conducted by Northern Arizona University’s, Arizona Hospitality Research & Resource Center has revealed some interesting facts. Here’s how Stronghold specifically is contributing to the growth:

  1. With international distribution, Arizona Stronghold is building a reputation of AZ wine across the country and world.
  2. Stronghold’s many awards, locally and internationally, are drawing tourists/wine lovers from all over.
  3. The Cottonwood Tasting Room and vineyards in Verde Valley and southeastern AZ, Stronghold’s winemaking has an economic impact across the state.

We’re doing our part by picking up a bottle or two of local wine and you should too. Cheers!
