Since their debut LP, “Manners”, dropped in 2009, Passion Pit has been the go-to band for the kind of music you blast while walking down the street feeling great about your life. The upbeat synth sounds have also been the choice for many a movie trailer and hoards of similar sounding bands emerged not too far behind in the wake of their success. Now a sophomore effort is in the near future (“Gossamer” is scheduled for a July 24 release) and it’s already getting rave reviews from critics who say the sound is growing more complex, but fans of the original will not be disappointed.
