Summer Of Sangria

July 18, 2012 | 2:00 PM | Eat & Drink | By Maxfield Barker

Los Sombrero’s delicious red and white Sangrias.

It’s fruit punch with a kick. Honestly, what’s a better drink to have in your hand when temperatures are consistently in the triple digits? Seasonal fruit, mixed with red or white wine, sometimes thrown in with a bit of brandy, and served over ice, what’s not to like? Good news for you, there are plenty of places around town to get your Sangria fix. Welcome to the Summer of Sangria.

Los Sombreros offers white and red sangria with a twist. Instead of fresh fruit, each blend contains mango nectar, apple juice, and a squeeze of fresh lime and orange, topped off with a splash of Triple Sec and brandy.

Postino Arcadia’s Sangria Sundays feature white sangria made with Pinot Grigio, fresh peaches, blackberries, vanilla bean, and freshly squeezed lemon and oranges. Enjoy specialty sangria for $5 while listening to live reggae from 12:30-3:30 every Sunday.

TEXAZ Grill’s sangria is a blend of California red Burgundy, Spanish brandy, orange liqueur, muddled citrus fruits and a float of soda.

Do you have a favorite Sangria spot or a great recipe of your own? We want to hear it!
