There is a reason so many local festivities populate around mid June and that reason is because any man celebrating Father’s Day enjoys options just as much as the women in his life. If free food and drink is you pop’s style:

Rawhide Steakhouse is hosting “Free Steak Father’s Day” June 17 from 5 to 10 p.m. All dads are welcome to enjoy a free 9oz. prime rib with all the fixins’. For the outdoorsy and competitive fellas:
Take dad for a paddle on Father’s Day from 8 to 10 a.m. at the SRP Tempe Town Lake Marina. Dad is free when accompanied by two registered participants. The cost is $15 for youth ages 10 to 15 and $30 for ages 16 and over. All participants must be at least 10 year of age. No previous kayaking experience necessary.
Spend Sunday with dad at the 3rd annual Father’s Day Man Brunch at Octane Raceway. Brunch is at 10 a.m. followed by indoor kart racing at 10:30 a.m. Breakfast and one race is $22 per person. Dad eats and races for free if accompanied by three or more paid participants.
Make a weekend of it and celebrate Father’s Day Saturday too:
The Irish Cultural Center presents the 6th Annual Bloomin’ Beerfest June 16 from 7 to 11 p.m. The event will commemorate Irish author James Joyce and his novel, Ulysses, and include beer tasting, excerpts from the novel, live Irish music and food. Admission is $10 and includes all Bloomsday activities plus free soda or bottled water. Beer tasting admission is $25 presale or $35 at the gate.
Take your football-loving dad out to a sports card show June 16 and surprise him with a meet-and-greet with NFL Hall of Famer Mean Joe Greene at North Phoenix Baptist Church from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Admission is $1 and autograph fees apply.
