The Weekend Concert Roundup

March 23, 2012 | 12:30 PM | Sound | By Maxfield Barker

It’s the weekend and that means it is time once again for us to bring the best music and entertainment going on around the Valley. Shall we get the Weekend Concert Roundup started?

Let’s kick off the weekend with a show by legendary singer, songwriter, guitar player, and actor, Kris Kristofferson. Beginning at 8:00 p.m. at the Celebrity Theatre, here’s where you can get tickets. Romeo Santos, who for the second year in a row claimed the title of “Latin Songwriter of the year” by ASCAP Latin Music Awards, will be playing tonight as well, at Arena.

If you feel like a laugh tonight, why not check Sinbad and pretend like it’s the early 90s again. If that sounds like fun to you, make your way over to the Ovations Live! Showroom at Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino. On Saturday, for all you Floyd lovers, The Pink Floyd Experience comes back to the Valley, at Comerica Theatre at 8:00 p.m.

It’s a good weekend for local music and the Crescent Ballroom in downtown Phoenix. That’s because local folk-punk rockers Andrew Jackson Jihad will playing at the Crescent Saturday night. What’s more? Jim Adkins, of one the biggest acts to come out of AZ, Jimmy Eat World, will be playing at Crescent the following night at 8:00 p.m. Probably best to just camp outside Crescent this weekend.
