This week, we’re sitting down with Susie Timm, founding mouth behind the popular Valley food blog Girl Meets Fork and this week’s Pancake Quest 2012, where 7 Valley chefs compete for the Pancake Quest crown. Find out who will take the hotcake on Wednesday, January 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Perk Eatery. This year’s competitors serving up their favorite flapjacks include: Perk Eatery, 24 Carrots Juice, Orange Table, Rico’s American Grill, Creative Butters, Elemental Sugar, Smart Kitchen and Gina’s Homemade. $20 gets you in the door for all you can eat silver dollar pancakes, bacon and more. What’s your favorite type of pancake? Chocolate Chip.
What’s your personal favorite Valley restaurant for pancakes?
Oh no. Too loaded. I’ll tell you after the competition is over!
Coffee or Tea with your hotcakes?
Coffee. Coffee goes with everything. Coffee makes everything better.
If you had one choice for dinner, where would you go? FnB

Cocktails of course. Pisco Sour is fave, but so hard to find here in AZ. Gin and tonic or extra dirty vodka martinis are a fabulous substitute.

Working with lots of local gourmet food producers and farmers’ markets to spark a fire under the locally produced food biz here.
What’s your favorite meal to cook at home? Slow cooked pork carnitas. Heaven. On. A. Plate.
Any restaurants you are excited to try in 2012?
Looking forward to Cuoco Pazzo and Barrio Queen. Also going to hit Binkley’s for the first time EVER in 2012 (I know, I know).
Any food / eating / GMF resolution for 2012?
Stop inhaling my food. Go to Napa. Perfect the making of pomegranate syrup.

Favorite foodie city in US? NYC
City you haven’t been but would like to visit? Seattle or Vancouver.
