Juan Downey: The Invisible Architect

December 20, 2011 | 1:00 PM | Art & Entertainment | By Staff

In its final weeks, see Juan Downey: The Invisible Architect at ASU Art Museum. “Juan Downey: The Invisible Architect is the first U.S. museum survey of the work of Chilean artist Juan Downey (1940-1993), an unsung video-art pioneer whose career Artforum magazine calls ‘brilliant and idiosyncratic.’” Using a variety of artistic mediums, Downey surveys our interest in modernism, post-colonial theory and contemporary art. The Chilean-born video artist has installations throughout the world including The Museum of Modern Art in New York, The Bronx Museum of the Arts, Centre Pompidou/ Musée national d’Art moderne in Paris, France and more. Now through December 31st. Closed holidays.
