DIY Friday: Holiday Body Scrub

December 9, 2011 | 11:30 AM | Home & Design | By Alanna Watson

Easy, thoughtful and impressive as all hell, we were sent this DIY Holiday Body Scrub recipe by Erika Katz and just had to share it with you. Who would’ve thought you could bypass the trip to Bath and Bodyworks completely and concoct a delicious smelling scrub in your own kitchen to give away to all your friends. The recipe was featured in a recent issue of Girl’s Life Magazine and accompanies a whole book of equally crafty ideas from Katz’s book, Bonding Over Beauty: A Mother Daughter Beauty Guide to Foster Self Esteem, Confidence and Trust (say that ten times fast). Find out how to make the sugary-cinnamony concoction after the jump.

Materials:
1 Cup Brown Sugar
2 teaspoons nutmeg
2 teaspoons ginger
2 teaspoons cinnamon
¼ cup almond oil or olive oil
1 Table spoon vitamin E oil
10-ounce glass jar with lid
Ribbon for decorating

How to Make It:
1. Mix all the dry ingredients together in a small bowl
2. Add the oils and stir well to combine
3.Fill glass jar with the scrub. Secure the lid and tie ribbon around the top. Add an instructions card (“rub all over, then rinse” should do the trick).

Ta-da. You are the next beauty mogul. Check out more ideas (like how to make your own pumpkin face mask) from her website here.
