October 25, 2011 | 7:55 AM | Art & Entertainment | By Claire Hoogenboom

Art is said to be the ultimate form of expression and creativity. There are literally no boundaries, no limits, and no wrong answers.

So come and appreciate some the work of esteemed artist Janine Antoni as she speaks in honor of this year’s Elaine Horwitch Memorial Lecture on Contemporary Art and Visual Culture.

Antoni is a renowned performance artist, using her body as a sculpture to turn daily tasks into visual marvels. One of her most famous works, Loving Care, featured the artist combining the traditional daily tasks of a home maker, using her hair, hands and knees as paint brushes, and painting.

Antoni exhibits across the country and has been the recipient of many awards for her work. Her lecture this year will no doubt be fascinating and inspiring.

The Elaine Horwitch Memorial Lecture has been sponsored by the Horwitch family in honor of the Scottsdale art gallery owner for 16 years and has featured some of the most prominent artists of the generation.

The event will be held Tuesday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. on the ASU Tempe Campus in the Lattie F. COOR Hall, Room 174. Admission is free.
