Small car fans have something to look forward to later this year, as Mini Cooper is set to unveil a special edition convertible called the Highgate that will hit showrooms in 2012.

Details are still under wraps, but the Highgate is believed to be similar to Mini’s Hampton package and will feature a new color called Ice Chocolate Metallic.

Look for more details later this year and a price tag near $29,000.
