Yes, it’s that time of year again. Time to kiss off the English and celebrate our democratic right once again. In true American fashion, this year’s Fourth of July will consist of nothing less then barbecues, beers, and blinding fireworks. With a long list of events in and around the valley, get out and celebrate, do John Hancock proud, sweat a little for your country, and party like its 1776. After the jump of course.
July 2
Anthem Independence Day Celebration is offering a free day of family fun to help gear up for the big day. With live music, including a performance by the newly crowned Anthem Idol, Dave Hatley, kids can play on giant inflatables and enjoy pony rides. Be sure to pack swimsuits and towels, but leave the food and beverage up to them. The jam packed evening will begin at 6 p.m. with fireworks at 9:30, located at the Anthem Community Park.
July 3
Cave Creek’s Third of July Fireworks kicks off at 5 p.m. The evening begins with a barbecue followed by live music from EastonAshe outdoors and Young Country indoors. Although the night is free, reservations are required as the party will include drink specials, face painting, games and prizes.
Independence Day Music Festival at Salt River Fields in Scottsdale will welcome country singer Blake Shelton to the stage along with American Idol contestants Crystal Bowersox, and Casey James, along with other performances. After the night of musical performance, fireworks will of course light up the night sky. Gates open at 5 p.m. sharp and ticket prices start at $18.50-$92.
Red Allen’s at the Wigwam is offering an adults only Fireworks Party of patriotic festivities. With $50 tickets, you can enjoy two complimentary drinks, a buffet of pork empanadas and hors d’oeuvres, with live entertainment and fireworks at 8:30. Interested in making it a weekend at the Wigwam, special two-night Great American Picnic Hotel Packages are available for $149 per night, July 2-4.
July 4
The City of Prescott celebrates America’s independence with 9 water slides, bungee jumping, climbing walls, pony rides, crafts, games, and giveaways. With purchase of tickets; $12 in advance, $15 at gate, you will find yourself surrounded with endless activities, four musical performances, food vendors and of course fireworks at 9 p.m. The fun starts at noon, so don’t miss out.
Tempe Town Lake Festival will surely deliver what you’re looking for in 4th of July festivities. The evening starts at 4 p.m. and include bounce houses, face painting, rock walls, live musical performances, and fireworks. Get your tickets now while they’re hot. Additionally, if a patriotic weekend in Tempe is what you’re looking for, be sure to book a room at Aloft Hotel in Tempe. With its perfect location to the Town Lake festivities (directly on the other side of the event), current special incentives are added such as 33-percent off tickets to Big Surf Waterpark (just one mile away) and tickets to MLB FanFest (part of the MLB All-Star Game) the following weekend. Fire in The Sky is returning for the annual 4th of July event that will involve trading food for fireworks. Bring cans and other non-perishable items to gain admittance to the razzle dazzle firework display viewable at two Gilbert locations. So bring your chairs, blankets, family, friends and food to celebrate the night in a giving way.
Chandler’s 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular of carnivals, dunk tanks, a 35-foot water slide, water-balloon wars, 24-foot rock climbing wall and games will entertain your rambunctious kids starting at 4 p.m. Later, unwind with live music at 7 p.m. before the booming firework show at 9:30. Admission is free for this six and half hours of patriotic celebration.
