Wednesday WTF? Pot Catapult

April 27, 2011 | 10:51 AM | News | By Frank Johnson

So say you’re an enterprising pot dealer on the AZ-Mexico border, and you’re not sure what to do with your marijuana now that the cops discovered your sneaky parking space drug tunnel? Why not build a giant catapult and launch bundles of pot right across the border? Well, surprise sursprise, that’s exactly what happened in Naco, some 80 miles southeast of Tucson.

See the oddly hilarious video after the jump:

Yes, National Guard troops operating a remote video surveillance system observed several people just across the border preparing a catapult and launching packages over the International Border fence, according to KVOA in Tucson. The troops called Mexican authorities, who seized about 45 pounds of marijuana, a sport utility vehicle and the catapult device. However, the camera showed the individuals fleeing the area before they could be intercepted.

Meanwhile, here’s some grainy surveilance footage of the harebrained operation at work.
