Golly gee, Batman, scouring food blogs every week can sure weigh on someone’s spirits. This is especially true when our favorite Phoenix bloggers don’t update their sites in months. *Heavy sigh* Do you hear that? That is the sound of the tiny violin that echos throughout the office when such a tragedy occurs so consistently. Luckily, not everyone is slacking on their civic duty and there will be a Chow Down Run-Down in spite of it all.
Here’s a redux of what’s happening in our favorite consistent food blogs:After a month long hiatus, Juxtapalate returns with a short post plug about a new project entitled Cycle. It’s a ‘pop-up’ restaurant concept that will feature an ever-changing menu with ever-changing chefs in a temporary building that … wait … we already covered this here and here, but it’s nice to put a familiar blog behind the very cool concept. Can’t wait to check it out come Friday, April 1.
Next up, the guys at EaterAZ, fresh off promoting last weekends Arizona Barbecue Festival, have moved on to another famous Scottsdale food event: the Scottsdale Culinary Festival. This year’s Chef Tribute Dinner will feature the fine cuisine of Jean-Georges Vongerichten (pictured) of J&G Steakhouse at The Phoenician. This sure-to-be-amazing multi-course dining experience is yours for only $150 a person. Make your reservations now and be sure to wear loose fitting pants to any and all Scottsdale Culinary Festival events.
Finally (yeah, that is seriously all we have to offer you today) is the most consistent of consistent food blogs, Chow Bella. This could be due in large part to the fact that Chow Bella is attached to an actual publication and people actually get paid to post regularly, but let’s just say that it has every thing to with their commitment to food and drink related happenings. This week’s Top 10 Craft Beers for Pussies post had us laughing out loud. Rather than just ripping-off the entire opening sequence that (light-heartedly) makes fun of hipsters and their affinity for weird hats, boat shoes and beers that no one has ever heard of, read the post yourself and find out the secret to drinking with anyone that frequently reads Pitchfork without giving away the fact that the only beer that has ever passed your lips contains the word “light” and has commercials regularly running on ESPN.
