[See a pic of the home after the jump] The distant Valley suburb of Maricopa just received the sort of publicity that real estate agents and local chambers of commerce dream about. Yes, Bristol Palin, the 20-year-old daughter of governor, politician, Reality TV star/author/bloviator, Sarah Palin, has bought a home in Maricopa.
What’s next, we’ll find out that Mama Palin bought that 154-acre mountaintop estate that was up for auction in Maricopa? Or that Bristol is joining Sheriff Joe’s Anti-Immigration Posse?

According to the Arizona Republic, the Dancing With the Stars runner-up purchased a five-bedroom home this month for $172,000 in cash. Which is quite a steal considering the home was originally purchased for $329,560 back in 2006. Not surprisingly, the home landed in foreclosure this January, where it was gobbled up in by Michael and Cynthia Smith, a couple from North Dakota, who paid $137,200 for this investment property.
The paper could not reach Bristol Palin to ask whether she plans to become a young snowbird or a full-time Arizonan. However, the seller, Michael Smith commented, “I’m not sure why she wanted to buy that home, but we are real happy for her. She seems like a nice girl. We’re excited for her.”
