Tonight, celebrate the arrival of Jam, an artisan’s boutique and creative venue housed inside Old Town Scottsdale’s historic Charles Miller home with a grand opening shindig hosted from 4-8 pm. Named Joy at Jam, enjoy live music and delectable nibbles, all while soaking in the latest works from 20 local and national artists, including paintings, jewelry and home décor. Deets after the jump!
Not only will this charming new venue sell items made by local and national artists on any given day, but Jam also offers classes taught by the Valley’s most skilled artists, trades people, teachers and practitioners in the arena of arts and social interest. The classes will range from welding to calligraphy, from playing poker to baking a pie and everything in between. A yearly membership for $20 per month is available for purchase if you like what you see. With this membership, members receive their first class of the month free, plus $3 off every additional class that month.
“I am creating a place where people come together to get inspired, and inspire others,” said Shauna Jean Kupetz, owner of Jam.
Fun Fact: The home where Jam is housed was built in 1913 by Charles Miller, who brought the first electricity to Scottsdale. (So you can blame him next time you are at a bumping nightclub packed with spiky-haired Scottsdalians.) Miller’s home, which has been moved and saved from demolition twice, now resides in a commercial area called the Charles Miller Square.
