DIY Friday (on a Monday): Personal Fire Pit

This Do-It-Yourself project couldn’t come at a better time. With Valley low’s finally reaching the 40′s at night this week, we could sure use one of these portable fire pits on our back patio to heat up our thin Phoenician blood. Karen at TheArtOfDoingStuff.Com was all over the idea a few months back when things started cooling off in the rest of the world. This beauty (pictured left) will suit the needs of all you pyros, and won’t require you to make that dreaded log run to light this fire! Crafted from a metal planter, cheap photo frames, decorative rocks and a can of gel fuel, she’s not only a beauty but she’s cheap too, costing you less than $30! Get to Makin’ and watch the dancing flames reflect against the glass when you’re done. The modern shape and neutral colored rocks make this fire pit look elegant and simply beau-ti-ful!

Head on over to Karen’s blog for the detailed instructions on how to create your very own. Materials you’ll need, marine silicone, small decorative rocks, cheap glass photo or document frames, a can  several cans of gel fuel (we might be pyros), a square metal planter with an thick edge, and sheets of metal mesh.
