CityScape, the massive new mixed-use $900M development in the heart of Downtown Phoenix, is throwing itself a partay this weekend to celebrate its Official Grand Opening. Featuring food, fun and concerts, including a performance from national recording artist Macy Gray, did we mention that it’s completely free?
This three-day fête kicks off with the dedication of the new Patriots Square Park on Friday morning, followed by free concerts on Friday and Saturday, as well as a variety of entertainment offerings, fashion shows, food specials and shopping promotions all weekend long. Retailers expected to open (or be coming soon) include Urban Outfitters (Score!), Republic of Couture, Charming Charlie, a way-cool jewelry and accessories store, Rasputin Vodka Bar and Vitamin T, chef Aaron May‘s new baby.
A few things we think you might not want to miss on Friday, the Phoenix Suns Pre-game Happy Hour featuring live music from The Walkens at 4:30, plus catch Macy on the main stage at 9:30.
Saturday the official Downtown Festival begins at 11 am. But for all you gym-rats, Yoga and Spin Classes will be held in the Park hosted by CityScape’s Gold’s Gym at 10 am. Local music will be live on the main stage, cooking demos and fashion shows featuring CityScape tenants will kick off, and comedy acts will be presented by Stand Up Live, CityScape’s new comedy club. Arrive early on Sunday, the first 250 people to arrive to the all-day family event on Sunday will receive a free CityScape lawn chair. The lawn chairs won’t be the only free thing CityScape tenants will be giving away, so schedule your blackberry now.
