Behind the Apron With Christopher Gross

November 5, 2010 | 10:59 AM | Restaurants | By Staff

James Beard Award-winning chef, Christopher Gross has been a Valley institution for more than two decades. Chef/owner of Christopher’s and Crush wine bar, he’s posed naked in a national ad campaign for Cuisinart and cooked his signature Chocolate Mouse Tower for the late, great Julia Child on PBS.

However, we wanted to know where this classically-trained French-style chef likes to chow down when he’s off the clock. His answer after the jump.

“When I go out, I’m looking for someplace totally casual, someplace totally different from what I’m doing. It’s been around for a milion years, but my girlfriend and I still love Los Dos Molinos in south Phoenix. It’s a great place to grab a beer and enjoy some really spicy, flavorful food.”
