Wednesday WTF?

Paging Dr. Evil. Your deathray is ready. According to a report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, pool patrons at the sleek new Vdara Hotel are getting zapped by concentrated beam of sunlight reflecting off the tower’s concave surface.

Housed inside the $11 billion CityCenter project, the curving, glass-lined Vdara tower is apparently perfectly-shaped to collect and concentrate sunlight before reflecting it back to the pool deck. So much so that guests have reported burning hair and melted plastic cups. Hotel officials, who prefer the term “hot spot,” told the paper that they are working on solutions including adding more trees and a large shade structure.
