Worth Repeating: 5 Not-So-Trendy Fall Fashions

August 28, 2010 | 2:02 PM | Shop & Style | By Lacee Wentworth

Seriously? As chosen by you, here are the most popular posts of ALL TIME! (last week):

It’s fall fashion season, which means the trends spotted on the runways of New York, Paris and Milan are starting to wash up here in the Valley. So what’s en vogue for 2010? Once again, fall fashion is packing a strong, wait for it, 80s vibe.

But fear not fashionistas, according to the NY Times, it’s only a matter of time before designers drop their MC Hammerobsession for something a little more 1990s. Yes, by this time next year, we’ll all be dressing like Elaine from SeinfeldTake a look at other bad fall fashion trends after the jump!

The Ridiculously Large Hair Bow:
Hair’s the scoop; Louis Vuitton created the first version of this accessory in the late 1980s. We suggest that unless your name is Gaga or Minnie Mouse, steer clear of this fall fashion trend. You’ve probably seen this obnoxiously large hair accessory trend in Juicy Couture ads or on runways but as Phoenicians, we just aren’t buying it.

The (Circa 1989) Pantsuit:
Neiman Marcus just reported that the dreaded pantsuit is back in action. These pantsuits have only gotten worse after three decades, as they now come in floral and other hideous prints. Ladies, just say no. Enough said.

Shoulder Pads:
Eighties inspired broad shoulders have made their way back onto the runways this season, and into some of our favorite shopping spots. The look ranges from football-esque, to militant maven, but a twist on the classic 80’s trend: square and pointed.

MC Hammer Harem Pants:
No offense to MC, but these pants don’t make anyone look fabulous this season. We love flowy looks, but this is a bit overboard. Forever 21Guess, and Repetto all have their own heinous versions. If you must, try a gangsta’ chain and Nike hightops, perfect for an outing on October 31.

Clogs:
Besides the horrible sound they make when you walk, they make any outfit downright dowdy. Props to Chanel for creative styling, but they look terrible with or without the knee-high socks. First Crocs, now this. We were hoping these were gone for good.
