According to the national style magazines, the much-anticipated fall fashion season is just around the corner. Unfortunately, here in the Valley, we’re still looking at another month (or two) of summery tanktops and less-than-fashionable flip-flops. However, starting tonight you can officially let your fashionista flag fly as we count down to the start of the 6th annual Phoenix Fashion Week at the W Scottsdale, October 7-9, 2010.
Hosted at 7 pm at the Wrigley Mansion Club, this open-to-the-public event is your first chance to meet the 10 AZ-based designers who will be competing in PHXFW 2010 Emerging Designers Contest. Guests will be also able to hear from last year’s winner, Joanna De’ Shay, designer of Black Russian Label. Furthermore, word is that the 30 plus emerging models found at the Phoenix Fashion Week model search will be making an appearance at the event as well. RSVP here.
So what is Phoenix Fashion Week? This three-day fashion event will showcase Holiday 2010 and Spring 2011 collections with 35 designer runway shows, trunk sales, statewide retail events and fashion workshops parties. Dedicated to developing the Arizona fashion industry, PHXFW also hosts year-round educational fashion seminars and workshops led by top experts. Most important, Phoenix Fashion Week also gives back to the community with its celebrity FASHIONABLY PINK show, presented by Dillard’s, and benefiting Susan G. Komen for the Cure Phoenix.
