Weather Report: Sunny With a Chance of Brad Perry

'Memba Me?

Mixed news on the local weather front, as the Valley continues to both sizzle and steam. Meanwhile, one of our fav TV clowns weatherman, Brad Perry has resurfaced in San Diego alongside another former local talking head.

First comes the sad but unsurprising news that this blast of hot, humid weather has turned deadly. The Arizona Republic is reporting that two homeless men were found dead over the weekend, apparently overcome by the smothering hot weather. Meanwhile, the Associated Press reports that eight overheated hikers had to be helped off of Camelback Mountain on Sunday alone. All of this on the heels of three Utah men missing and assumed dead while scouring the Superstitions Mountains for the so-called Lost Dutchman Gold Mine.

Even worse, while the daily highs should drop down below 110 this week, we’ll be looking at record-setting low temperatures, such as the scalding 94 degrees recorded in Phoenix last night.

So who’s ready for some good weather-related news? In case you’ve been missing the relentlessly hungover perky reporting of Brad Perry, he’s landed another TV gig. Laid off from 3TV’s “Good Morning Arizona” in 2009 after a 10 year run, Perry bummed around town for a while, promoting his musical career. However, in late April he was hired by KUSI San Diego as part of it’s “Good Morning San Diego” crew. Also joining the ‘Zonie invasion? Fellow 3TV cast-off, Russ Shimabuku, who’s now covering sports for FOX 5 San Diego.

No word on how Burgundy, Brick, Champ, Brian Fantana and the rest of the Action 4 News Team will handle this new competition. You stay classy, Brad and Russ!
