Here at DLT, we’d be much more inclined to try vegan, vegetarian or any other type of of sans-meat eating practice, if we didn’t have to forego devouring our favorite guilty pleasures like ice cream. Which is why we were stoked to discover Green, a newish Tempe eatery specializing in ‘new American vegetarian cuisine.’ Even better, Green whips up a deliciously rich dessert called the ‘Tsoynami’ offered in a variety of Blizzard-like flavors.
The Tsoynami’s origins aren’t too different than DQ’s legendary ice cream treat, except the Green team substitutes soy-milk-enriched soft serve for traditional cow milk. Try the Almond Oy Vey!, which comes with almonds, coconut shavings and is topped with a drizzle of vegan chocolate sauce. And of course, Green also offers an extensive vegetarian-friendly menu in case you don’t want to skip straight to dessert.
