July is “Safety Month” at The Children’s Museum of Phoenix (CMoP). (Which if you are a parent of a little one, is kind of a big deal.) So swing by to check out the museum’s fantastic, three story Climber, and then stick around to catch some the following safety-related happenings at the CMoP.
Thursday, July 1: SRP Safety Connection, 2 to 4 pm. Join the SRP Safety Connection for an interactive experience as they provide valuable information on how to keep kids and adults safe around all bodies of water.
Friday, July 2: Target Free First Friday Night, 6 to 10 pm. On First Friday Nights, the Museum is open free! CMoP won the 2010 azcentral.com Readers’ Choice Award for Best Free Museum Night! A magician, music and sidewalk chalk will keep the little ones entertained while waiting for the doors to open before 6 o’clock!
Saturday, July 3: Hubbard Family Swim School Presents: Safer 3: Safer Water, Safer Kids, Safer Response, 10:15, 11 & 11:30 am. Hubbard Family Swim School will share the Safer 3 (Safer Water, Safer Kids and Safer Response) message on water safety with children.
Friday, July 9: New Directions Institute Presents – Parent/Caregiver Workshop: Discover How Infants and Toddlers Learn, noon to 1 pm. New Directions Institute for Infant Brain Development will be offering one-hour presentations to parents/caregivers on the latest information and techniques to “wire up” a young child’s brain for a successful future. During this workshop, parents/caregivers will learn the importance of spending quality time with their children and how those bonding experiences facilitate healthy emotional development in areas of the brain critical to learning and school readiness.
Saturday, July 10: Toddler & Parent Yoga, 10 to 10:50 am. Introduce your young child to the countless benefits of yoga in this specially designed class that uses games, music, stories and play to explore postures, balance and breath. The class is designed for children ages 18 months through three years.
