An American Woman in NYC

June 4, 2010 | 1:27 PM | Travel | By Carlyn Mumm

Ahh New York. The city of yellow taxi’s, An Affair to Remember and big dreams. Fortunately for you dear readers, The Gramercy Park Hotel seems to be blissfully unaware that we’re located in Phoenix. Which is why we are giving away a $250 gift certificate they sent us to stay at this swanky shelter. With Moulin Rouge like decor and A-list guests, The Gramercy Park Hotel gives you the keys to the city, literally. As a guest you get keyed access to Gramercy Park and private access to rooftop gardens and courtyards. Heck, we want to go!

While you’re in the neighborhood, go see the “American Woman: Fashioning a National Identity” exhibit running through August 1st at the Met. Showcasing styles from 1890 to 1940 the exhibit focuses on the major influencing archetypes on American fashion and how they’ve shaped the perception of American women. With an audio guide narrated by Sarah Jessica Parker, you’ll get your own taste of Sex and the City.

To win, be the first to correctly name the 6 archetypes of fashion that the exhibit highlights. Entries to carlyn.mumm@scoopfactory.com Good luck!
