Looks Good Enough To Eat

Mama always said don’t play with your food, but she never anything about photographing it. Leave it to The New York Times to do some serious reporting on a trend most people just hoped would go away. Call it the everybody wants to be a food reviewer, or a blogger, or both trend, but the web is being overrun with self-portraits of food. Take, for example, Javier Garcia, who the Times reports has photographed every single thing he’s eaten for the past five years. Meanwhile, “one of the largest and most active Flickr groups, called “I Ate This,” includes more than 300,000 photos that have been contributed by more than 19,000 members,” the article states. Which begs the question, if 19,000 people post pics that no one will ever look it, did it really happen?
