In The Black

March 23, 2010 | 12:57 PM | Shop & Style | By John McDonald

If John Varvatos Artisan is for your classic, easy-going guy, then the new Artisan Black is for the man a little rougher around the edges. The limited-edition fragrance, which will debut in stores April 1st, is a longer-lasting and muskier follow up to its predecessor. From perfumer Rodrigo Flores-Roux, the man who brought you the original Artisan, John Varvatos and John Varvatos Vintage, comes notes of tangerine, Italian blood orange and Murraya flower, all bottled up alongside “sensual woody and leathery accents.” And it’s not just the scent that got a bit of a makeover: the bottle appears in the same hand-woven rattan, however this time, it’s been painted black.
