Spring (Training) is in the Air

Salt River Fields Evening Rendering Salt River Fields, new Spring Training home to the Arizona Diamondbacks and Colorado Rockies, will open February of 2011.
Believe it or not, but Spring Training season is right around the corner here in the Valley. And starting this season, the home team will be playing inside a state-of-the-art new stadium just outside Scottsdale. Wanna take a sneak peek?

If you've driven down the 101 near Via de Ventura lately, you've likely noticed the ever-growing sports stadium just off the highway. The used-to-be dirt lot will soon be home to our struggling beloved Arizona Diamondbacks and the Colorado Rockies. The boffo new stadium (officially named Salt River Fields at Talking Stick) will feature batting cages, twelve practice fields, clubhouses, 11,000 seats for the baseball masses, and fan observation areas, allowing game goers a glimpse of the players' training routines. Thankfully, the stadium will open just in time (hopefully) for the 2011 spring training season. Prepare yourself for baseball 2011 and check out some of these stadium renderings we've scooped up for you.
